Water signs feel things deeply. Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces — they're the ones who cry at commercials, who remember every detail of a conversation from three years ago, who love with their whole chest and then some. Designing for them isn't hard. It's actually one of my favorite things to do, because the beads practically choose themselves.
Here's what I researched, what I landed on, and why.
What I Researched
I started where I always start: meaning. Not just "what looks pretty" but what does this stone or bead actually carry?
For water signs, I was looking for:
- Emotional resonance — stones tied to intuition, healing, and depth
- Color language — blues, blue-greens, soft whites, deep purples, and the occasional moody black
- Texture and movement — nothing too rigid; water signs respond to flow
I pulled from a few sources I trust — crystal reference books, some astrology-adjacent jewelry communities, and honestly, my own gut. I've been making jewelry long enough that I know when something feels right for a person.
What I Chose
Cancer — Power Color: Silver
Silver is Cancer's power color: reflective, luminous, tied to the moon in the most literal way. I paired it with amethyst as the elemental stone — calming, protective, and deeply intuitive — and moonstone as the signature gemstone. Soft, shifting, quietly radiant. Cancer energy in bead form. I've layered moonstone with recycled paper beads in warm neutrals for something that feels grounded and dreamy at the same time.
Scorpio — Power Color: Black
Black is Scorpio's power color, and it earns it. Intense, magnetic, uncompromising. The elemental stone is amethyst — shared with the other water signs, but it reads differently here: more protective, more guarded. The signature gemstone is citrine, and I love this pairing. That warm golden glow against deep black is pure Scorpio contradiction — the fire underneath the still water. It's one of my favorite combinations to work with.
Pisces — Power Color: Turquoise
Turquoise for Pisces makes complete sense — it's the color of the ocean at its most dreamy, most expansive. The elemental stone is amethyst again, and for Pisces it carries that spiritual, boundary-dissolving quality that fits them perfectly. The signature gemstone is aquamarine: clear, calm, and named for the sea. Pisces in a bead. I often pair aquamarine with natural wood or coconut shell for contrast — something to anchor all that flow.
The Throughline
You may have noticed that amethyst shows up as the elemental stone for all three water signs. That wasn't an accident. Amethyst is deeply tied to intuition, emotional clarity, and protection — and those are the things all three signs are working with, in their own ways. It's the shared language underneath the differences.
Why It Matters
I don't design by zodiac because I think the stars dictate your personality. I design by zodiac because it gives people a language for what they're drawn to — and that language helps me make something that actually resonates.
When someone says "I'm a Scorpio," what they're often really saying is: I want something with depth. Something that doesn't look like everyone else's bracelet. Something that means something.
That's what I'm always trying to make anyway.
