The Bin that Time Forgot

I've been reorganizing. And by reorganizing, I mean I finally opened the bins I hadn't touched since the last time I reorganized.

You know the ones.

Tucked inside was this beautiful stone — smooth, with something etched into it that looks like a shield. I'm thinking jade. It has that quiet weight to it, that cool-to-the-touch stillness that makes you stop and just... hold it for a minute.

It started talking immediately. African-inspired, it said. Wooden beads. Something earthy and grounded to match that etched face.

So I built it.

The Attempt - that got scrapped

And then I had to cut it apart.

Too stiff - the longer beads wouldn't let the bracelet move the way it needed to. Disappointing in the way only a bracelet that almost worked can be. But the stone is still here. Still beautiful. Still waiting.

So what does a piece of jade with a shield etched into it want to become?

I don't know yet. But I'm going to find out.

Follow along.

Post Note: It found a home!
